Obituary of Mary Jane Engwall

Mary Jane Engwall, 84, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 in her home following a relatively brief battle with cancer. She was the widow of Raymond G. Engwall. She was born in Jamestown on December 14, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ellen Franzen Holmberg. In earlier years, Mary Jane was a member of First Covenant Church where she and her late husband, Raymond were married in June of 1953. They were married 65 years before his passing on April 11, 2019. In later years, they had belonged to Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ. Surviving is Mary Jane's daughter, Sue (Kevin) Ellberg of Jamestown and son, Keith (Neva) Engwall of Lakeland, FL; a granddaughter, Erin Avecedo and great-grandson, Jonas Hilburn, both of Tamarac, FL; and six nieces and nephews: Paula Holmberg of California, David Holmberg of Pittsburgh, PA, Allen Holmberg of Dayton, OH, Kathy Eisele of Waterville, NY, Kevin Engwall of Jamestown and Karen Berg of Russell, PA. Besides her husband, Ray, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Engwall. Services will not be held at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
