Obituary of June M. Geist

June M. Geist, 88, formerly of 803 Cherry Street, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born June 23, 1932, in New Salem, PA, a daughter of the late Edward and Twila Reichard Doverspike. She was employed by Loyalton Senior Living in the housekeeping department and earlier had worked for WCA Hospital. She attended Fluvanna Community Church. She will be remembered for her love of roses, crocheting, card making, and most of all family. Surviving are six children Darlene Geist, Nancy (George) Adams, Patty (George) Fleming, Connie (Dalbert) "Chip) Myers, Lisa Geist and Jim Geist; nine grandchildren Matthew (Courtney) Snyder, April Snyder, Ashley Adams, Dale (Emma) Fleming, Christopher (Nicole) Fleming, Nichole (Arthur) Kuyumjian, Jami (Richy) Smith, Josh Geist and Brittany (Tom) Kistler; eight great grandchildren; and siblings Carl Miller of Pleva, MO, Kay Filegar of Oil City, PA, and Ramona Pratt, Jay (Emegene) Doverspike and Max Doverspike all of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James D. Geist, whom she married July 20, 1949 and who died July 3, 1977 and two daughters Jean Snyder and Betty Geist. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
