Obituary of Carol A. Linn

Carol A. Linn, 70, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 5:24 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in her home, following a courageous two year battle with cancer. A lifelong area resident, she was born April 18, 1950 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Carl and Helen Holmes Peterson. She was a 1968 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement in 2013, she was employed as an occupational therapy aide at W.C.A. Hospital and had earlier worked for the Lutheran Home for several years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and will be remembered as one who enjoyed doing crafts and making pottery. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved the companionship of her three dogs. Surviving are her three children; Patty K. (Philip Buffone, Jr.) Linn, Jessica A. (Andy) Dorler, Aaron (Dawn Mesler) Linn all of Jamestown,six grandchildren; Gavin, Jaxson, and Kyler Dorler, Cloey, Ariana, and Gabriel Linn all of Jamestown, a brother; Robert Peterson of FL and two sisters; Jane Hagstrom and Wendy Drook both of IN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel B. Linn whom she married August 22, 1970 and who died December 30, 2017. A private memorial service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Friends will be received on a walk through basis from 1-2 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021, where social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while inside the funeral home.
