Obituary of James L. Bennett

James L. Bennett, 73, of 220 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at UPMC Chautauqua. He was born March 14, 1947 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Joseph L. and Dorothy Carpenter Bennett. Following high school, Jim served in the US Navy from 1966 until 1969. He later attended Jamestown Business College. An employee of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities for a number of years, Jim retired as Power Plant Shift Crew Chief in 2004. Surviving are two daughters, Jamie Bennett and Stacey Bennett, both of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Brianna Rossi, Hailie Bennett, Justin Bennett, Devon Hallett, and Zackery Johnson; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joanne Bennett of North Carolina and Laurie Heron of Florida, and a brother, Jeff Bennett of New York. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Joey Bennett; and in 2002, a granddaughter, Caitlyn Bennett. Burial will be in Veteran's Grove of Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
