Obituary of Tim A. Stevens

Tim A. Stevens, 63, of 984 Southwestern Drive, Jamestown, died unexpectedly Monday, January 25, 2021 in his home. He was born January 23, 1958 in Jamestown, a son of the late Paul M. and Shirley Sampson Stevens. Tim was a 1976 graduate of Southwestern Central School where he played football and wrestled. In earlier years, he was employed by Shotcrete Service in Frewsburg, Fairbank Farms, Sampson Construction, and then with his brother Dan, owned and operated Stevens Bros at which time he was also very influential in many kids' lives through 4-H. Tim more recently worked as a meat cutter for Maplevale Farms. Tim loved preparing and sharing Sunday breakfast with family every week. He enjoyed cooking, camping and cutting firewood, family building projects and watching his sons play football, baseball and wrestle for their school teams. Tim was also famous for being the first to hold every one of his grandbabies. He was a life member of the Busti Fire Department. Surviving is his wife, Sharon Hagberg Stevens whom he married October 9, 1982; three children: Andrew (Sabrina) Stevens of West Ellicott, Eric (Donna) Stevens of Frewsburg and Hannah (Lucas) Collins of West Ellicott; six grandchildren: Alyssa and Madelyn Collins, and Sage, Zoey, Rowan and Everitt Stevens; and a sister, Pamela (Dennis) Shilling of Busti, brother, Daniel Stevens of Panama and twin sisters, Teresa Stevens of Lakewood and Diana Stevens of Erie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul in 2006 and mother, Shirley in 1991. Following strict guidelines for social distancing, the family will receive friends in a walk-through manner from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. A private family service will be held.
