Obituary of Alfred A. Gullotti

Alfred A. "Al" Gullotti, 91, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, he was born December 2, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Samuel and Sarah Mazzurco Gullotti. He was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Syracuse University School of Forestry and took special courses at Cornell University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1951- 1953 during the Korean War. Before his retirement he was employed by the family business, Crawford Furniture Manufacturing Corporation. He began his career at Crawford's as a factory worker and advanced to Supervisor, Plant Superintendent and to the position of Plant General Manager, retiring on June 2, 1992. He remained on as a consultant to the corporation until 2005. He was a longtime faithful communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church where he served many capacities of the church including the Trustee Board, Parish Council, Finance Council, a member of the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic Minister, served as an Acolyte, was a song leader and sang in the choir and worked on many St. John Festivals. For his many works in the church he was awarded the St. Joseph Lay Award and the Thomas Aquinas Award. In earlier years he was active in several community organizations serving on the board of directors for the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club, the American Red Cross, and was a member of the Jamestown Housing Authority Board. He was a charter member of the Industrial Management Club, a member of the Catholic Men's Celtic Club, the Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 American Legion, a life member of the John W. Tiffany Post 53, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Jamestown Elks Lodge. He especially enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Moon Brook Country Club for many years. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Rosalie Marie Giambrone Gullotti whom he married June 16, 1951, his four children; Samuel P. (Kim) Gullotti, Alfred D. (Cheryl) Gullotti, Susan (Roy) Gullotti-Bishop, Sharon Gullotti-Tefft (David Lundsten) all of Jamestown, 10 grandchildren; Samuel Gullotti of Baltimore, MD, Jacqueline Gullotti of Buffalo, NY, Chad (Jenna) Gullotti , Melissa (Shane) Johnson, both of Jamestown, Lexy (Scott) Baglia of Waxhaw, NC, Christopher Bishop of Denver, CO, Andrew (Julie) Bishop of Amherst, NY, Rachel (Andrew) Mattison of Buffalo, NY, Cassandra Tefft of Lakewood, NY, Stephanie Tefft of Jamestown, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers, William Gullotti, Dominic (Nikki) Gullotti and sister, Jeanette (Gordon) Carlson all of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert and Frank Gullotti, Carl Cappa and a sister, Mary Prinzi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10;30 am Tuesday, February 9, 2021 In Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while in the church. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. A walk through visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while inside the funeral home.
