Obituary of Sebastiana/Bastiana Bessie Riolo

Sebastiana "Bessie" Riolo, 100, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident since coming from Italy in 1955, she was born May 9, 1920 in Tortorici Sicily, Italy, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rosalie Casella. In her early years she was employed by the former National Worsted Mills and also for the Sanitary Wiping Cloth Company. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She will be remembered as one who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking and baking. Surviving is a daughter; Sara (Gregory) Rapp of Jamestown, NY, two granddaughters; Danielle (Matt) Jasinski of West Seneca, NY, Kasi Jo (Elgin) Wiles of Royal Palm Beach, FL, four great grandchildren; Camren Stilson, Michael Jabczynski both of West Seneca, NY, Mikenzie Wiles of Colorado Springs, CO, Gracie Jasinski of Buffalo, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guiseppe Joseph Riolo whom she married July 19, 1952 and who died July 31, 1988, two brothers, Salvatore and Carmelo Casella and two sisters, Josephine Barbar and Antonina Casella. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
