Obituary of Marilyn A. Soehnlein

Marilyn A. Soehnlein, 86, formerly of Bemus Point, died peacefully Monday April 5, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 5, 1934, in Buffalo, a daughter of Norman and Marion Lake Rechlin. Following high school, she graduated from Millard Fillmore School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Prior to her retirement she was employed by WCA Hospital and earlier Brooks Memorial Hospital. She will be remembered as a loving Mother and Grandmother with a gentle, caring and beautiful soul. Her family was her world and her greatest accomplishment in life. She lived life full of joy, grateful for each and every day. In her family's eyes she was a saint. From her family to her nursing career, caretaking was her life's mission. She was a devout Christian, faithful to our Lord and Savior. She was patient, loving and kind and loved her family with all her heart. Surviving are three daughters Sharon Soehnlein, Jacqueline (Patrick) Damore and Diane (Richard) Harding; a son Eric (Laurie) Soehnlein; grandchildren Jillian Messinger, Amy Larson, Jocelyn Garrison, Danyelle Harding, Colton Soehnlein, Samuel Damore, Julia Damore and Riley Soehnlein; great grandsons Conway and Hans Larson and siblings Lucille White, Neil Rechlin and Grace Seitz. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Soehnlein, whom she married October 5, 1957 and who died April 13, 1992; her beloved grandson Alan Harding and brothers Norman and Charles Rechlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park, Hamburg, NY.
