Obituary of Angelene F. Paterniti

Angelene J Paterniti, 97, of Jamestown NY passed away peacefully in the home of her son, David, on April 15, 2021. She was born on May 14, 1923, in McCalmont, PA, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Marie Perry Frangione. Mrs Paterniti was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School. She attended City College in Baltimore, MD, from 1942 to 1944 and obtained her secretarial degree. She was secretary to Jamestown's Mayor Carl Sanford from 1956 to 1961. She, along with her sister Margaret Carlson, owned The Four Seasons Hallmark Shoppe on Third Street from 1974 to 1977. She loved creating pottery. She attended JCC's pottery class for many, many years and sometimes even taught the class for the professor. She went to several craft shows every year, where she had many regular customers who would seek her out for her unique pieces. Mrs. Paterniti was a lifetime member of St John's Roman Catholic Church. She was married to the late Joseph P. Paterniti for 63 years before his passing on November 29, 2013. The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and aids for the comfort and help they provided. Mrs. Paterniti is survived by three sons. Gregory F. (Diane) Paterniti, Mitchell B. (Debra) Paterniti, David P. (Kristina) Paterniti with whom she made her home for the last four years; six grandchildren: Aaron, Adam, Elizabeth (Cody), Anthony (Brittany), James (Emily) and Anna and several surviving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by eight siblings. A private viewing and service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W.
