Obituary of Marcia Eckman

Marcia Annette Eckman, 80, from Lakewood, New York has passed in Augusta, Georgia after a short illness. Marcia was born July 14th, 1940 to her loving parents, Emmett and Esther Eckman. After graduating from the University of Buffalo, Marcia worked for the Coast Guard in Washington, DC as a civilian in real estate properties where her work focused on the acquisitions, sales and placement of lighthouse properties. Marcia moved to Augusta Georgia in 2005 to follow her younger boyfriend, Michael, when he relocated there. The two were inseparable and took many trips together including their annual trip to her hometown and as far away as Thailand, Japan, the United Kingdom and France. Marcia was always a world traveler and loved to dine with friends. She was a very fashionable lady, always styling high end couture and getting compliments everywhere she went. Marcia was well educated in many subjects and would never cease to correct anyone she felt was offering incorrect details. Marcia leaves behind many friends, including her cousins Richard Bowen and Janice Thompson, The Eckman and Lloyd families of Pennsylvania, Delores Cradolph of Ft Belvoir VA, Pauline Clark of Charlottesville Virginia, Bea Thompson of Spokane WA and Brenda LaFavor of Evans, GA. Marcia's loves were Michael Siewert and Justin Resley. The three musketeers found fun wherever they went! We will all miss her quick wit, her style and her charm. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. In addition, there will be a Celebration of Life held next month in Augusta. Memorials may be made to Village of Lakewood Museum, 20 W. Summit Street, Lakewood, NY 14750.
