Obituary of Ralph E. King

Ralph E. King, 83, of Jamestown, NY, formerly of Sinclairville, NY, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, in the Corry Manor, Corry, PA. A lifelong area resident, he was born August 22, 1937, in Town of Cold Springs, NY, a son of the late Daniel R. "Jack" and Ruby King, Sr. Before his retirement, he was employed as a die caster for the former Chautauqua Hardware Corporation for over 30 years. Ralph was a life member of the Sinclairville Fire Department where he was the second oldest member. During his many years in the fire department, he served as First Assistant Chief and was Captain of the Fire Police. He was also a member of the Ellery Center Fire Department for a short time. Ralph will be remembered as one who loved helping other people and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very active in many activities in Sinclairville including the Sinclairville 76ers Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed hunting and bowling. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Ericka "Ricky" Dahlbeck King, whom he married October 28, 1961, two daughters, Rebecca (Steven Bennett) Anderson of Lakewood, NY, Tammy Hoch of Jamestown, NY, three grandchildren, Heather Hoch of Buffalo, NY, Charles "Buddy" Hoch, Jr. of Olean, NY, Seth Bennett of Lakewood, NY, a great grandchild, Jaylynn Hoch, a brother, Robert King of Sinclairville, NY, a sister, Lillian Arnold of Ellery Center, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward King and Daniel King, Jr. and three sisters, Alberta Warner, Lynda Macri and Sandy Becker. The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Luke F. Fodor, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
