Obituary of August Amato

August Amato, 90, formerly of Hebner St., passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 in Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born on Dec. 7, 1930 in Italy and came to the United States with his sister in 1945. August was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St John Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a supervisor at the former Maddox Table Company in Jamestown and after their closing was also a supervisor at the former Ethan Allen Company in Frewsburg prior to retirement. August is survived by a daughter Lisa A. Slingluff Doody of Warren, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Miraglia Amato on Feb 7, 2003; four sisters; and one brother. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Samuel Pellerito will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
