Obituary of Christopher M. Brawdy

Christopher M. Brawdy, 28, of Ashville, NY, passed away unexpectedly at 7:53 am Friday, August 6, 2021, the result of an accident. A lifelong area resident, Chris was born May 22, 1993, in Jamestown, NY, a son of Mark D. Brawdy and Amy LaTone Bonta. Chris was a 2011 graduate of Jamestown High School and received a degree from the Lincoln Technical Institute of Connecticut in diesel technology in 2012. He was currently employed by Maplevale Farms, Inc. as a diesel mechanical for the past several years. As an experienced mechanic he also had several side jobs. Chris will be remembered as a devoted family man. He could be found on weekends parading his daughter Sophia around the house, just visiting all his people. He was so proud of Sophia and would do anything for her. His family seeks some solace knowing he passed away doing what he loved, being a mechanic. He had an incredible work ethic and was truly the epitome of "if you do what you love you never work a day in your life". Chris was enthralled by anything with a motor and reveled pushing them to the limit. He always had many "projects" laying around, the rustier and more impossible the better. He had a way of seeing the best and the potential in everything., whether it be in cars, houses, or other people. Chris was known for his huge heart, infectious smile, and positive energy. He was someone people just enjoyed being around. Despite the limited time he had, he was always available to lend a helping hand to a friend, or family member in need even if he was the only one to show up. His dream was to have a house with a big garage to work in, he and Lizzy were so close to achieving that dream before this unthinkable tragedy. His mother will miss his multiple daily phone calls and his father will miss his time watching the Cleveland Browns together. Everyone will miss his huge grin when his deafening truck rolled up to this place or that blasting heavy metal music with Sophia smiling in the back. Surviving are his pride and joy, his daughter, Sophia Ann Brawdy, his mother and step-father, Amy and Charley Bonta of Jamestown, his father and step-mother, Mark and Tammy Brawdy of Bemus Point, NY, his significant other, Lizzie Lewis and her three children, Maddie, Jon, and Jayden, his maternal grandparents, Dick and Rita LaTone of Jamestown, his paternal grandparents, Nancy (Jim) Brawdy of Stow, NY, Sam Parinella of Bemus Point, his siblings, Kayla (Louis) Landy of Phoenix, AZ, Tailyn Brawdy of Bemus Point, Ayden and Chase Bonta of Jamestown, Joe Calimeri of Jamestown, Michael (Ashleigh) Calimeri of Sacramento, CA, Abbie (Blake) Osborn of Grand rapids, MI, as well as s several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris was preceded in death by his uncle, Scott Latone, and grandfathers, David Brawdy and Charles Bonta, Sr. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mel McGinnis, pastor of the Kiantone Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in the lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday in the funeral home. The family asks that memorials donations be made to Amy Bonta, 94 Elm St. Jamestown, NY 14701 to be used for an educational fund for Sophia.
