Obituary of Ronald G. Vettenburg

Ronald G. "Cy" Vettenburg, 77, of Clymer, passed away on Saturday, Aug, 14, 2021 in UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. He was born on Aug. 12, 1944 in Corry, Pa, a son of the late John and Virginia Laird Vettenburg. Cy was a 1963 graduate of Corry High School. He owned and operated Cy's Repair Service in the Sherman, Clymer area for many years repairing farm machinery and was a member of Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church. With zest Cy had a love for life, God, family, and friends. An uncanny ability to add the best hugs, brownies, and cookies with his wit, charm, and humor brought those he touched into an extended family. If you gave him two minutes he gave you a lifetime of stories and memories. Cy is survived by his wife Paula A. Lewis Vettenburg, whom he married May 2, 1998; children Elaine Foy, Beverly Stanbro, Ronald Vettenburg, Jr.; a step-daughter Joy Henry; eight grandchildren: Amy Foy, Michael Foy, Courtney Vettenburg, Zachary Stanbro, Jessica Morton, Jacob Morton, Kim Lambdin, David Stanbro; many great-grandchildren: and four sisters: Deanna Murkens, Deborah Bernoski, Dawn Bish, Donna Mack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers: Stephen, Dj, Lee, and Ed Vettenburg. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 in Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church, Clymer. The Rev. Warren VanDewark, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg, Pa. Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the church.
