Obituary of Carol Marie Lowenthal

Carol Marie Rodriguez Lowenthal, 70, of Redondo Beach, California, passed away at peace on September 27, 2021. Carol M. Lowenthal was born in Bronx, New York, to Victor A. Rodriguez, Sr., and Consuelo Rivera Rodriguez on February 8, 1951. As a child, Carol loved to spend time with her beloved grandmother, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins while playing on her grandmother's 200-acre farm in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania. Carol attended C. C. Ring Elementary in Jamestown, New York. As a sixth-grade student, she was very proud to have helped create the school mosaic that depicted life in the olden days of Jamestown. Carol attended Washington Jr. High School and Jamestown High School, where she graduated in 1969. She went on to nursing school immediately following graduation and, soon after, worked at Jamestown General Hospital as a pharmacy technician. Carol was a lifelong learner who took great pride in her accomplishments as a pharmaceutical sales representative, a real estate broker, and a specialist in medical malpractice law. Her professional opinion and expertise were often sought out by colleagues and mentors. Those close to her knew her as a passionate force who fought for what she believed in. She was never afraid to stand up and be a powerful voice for those who dared not. Recently, despite her ongoing struggle with cancer, she always took the time to give her full input and be present for others in need. Carol M. Lowenthal dearly loved all her family and enjoyed the unique talents of all her grandchildren, but she had the most treasured relationship with her first granddaughter Nicole Marie Lowenthal, who she spent countless hours with--from the day of Nicole's birth until the very last day of Carol's life. It was her greatest life's joy to see Nicole grow from a baby into a beautiful preteen. Carol loved collecting rare coins, stamps, family photographs, and antique magazines. She was particularly interested in researching her ancestors, and in recent years, she was able to uncover and create a far-reaching family tree that can be shared with all future generations to enjoy. Carol M. Lowenthal will be fondly remembered for her authenticity, intelligence, empathy, unique sense of humor, passion for justice, and wit. Carol is survived by her three children--Amie Jo Nicole Havens (Kevin), of Severna Park, MD, Ann Marie Copeland of Buffalo, NY, and Jeremiah Paul Lowenthal (Thanikan) of Murrieta, CA. She is also survived by her two sisters--Joyce Deshaye of Olympia, WA, and Robin Rodriguez of Severna Park, MD--and by her beloved grandchildren Adrean Christopher Copeland, Aristotle Dylan Copeland, Jeremy Jonah Copeland, Leo Dominic Happy Havens, Dash William Austin Havens, Nicole Marie Lowenthal, and Preslie Brooke Havens. Carol leaves behind nieces Kiamesha Ramsey, Diana Deshaye, and Maria Deshaye, and nephew Dana Ramsey, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Victor A. Rodriguez, Jr., and her sister Pamela Rodriguez. Visitation will be held at Lind Funeral Home on October 14, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown, New York, on October 14, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. where family members will remember and celebrate Carol's life through their own personal eulogies. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, New York. You may light a candle in remembrance of Carol at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
