Obituary of Adrian W. Thomas

Adrian W. "Casey" Thomas, 95, formerly of Baker St. Ext. Ashville, NY, passed away at 2:11 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, he was born September 8, 1926, in Jamestown NY a son of the late George and Pearl Hooven Thomas. Casey was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from December 1, 1950, to December 1, 1952, during the Korean War. He served as a paratrooper and received his parachute wings. Before his retirement in 1989, he was employed as a millwright by the former Falconer Plate Glass Company. In later years he had worked for Midway Park and for the Everydays True Value Hardware Store. He was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and a life member of the Jamestown Coin Club. He will be remembered as one who loved Big Band Music, especially the Glen Miller Band, and was an avid reader of country western books. He also loved animals, especially his pet English Bull Dogs. Surviving is a daughter, Diane (Don) Foulk, a son, Darien Thomas (Jill Piazza), three grandchildren: Kasie Elizabeth Foulk, Courtney Thomas, Andrew Piazza, and a great granddaughter, Reyna Thomas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife the former Dorothy L. "Dottie" Larson Thomas whom he married September 6, 1963, and who died October 12, 2019, his stepmother, Mildred Thomas, a sister, Shirley Thomas Wilkins, a brother, Roger Thomas, and a granddaughter, Paige Louise Thomas. The funeral will be held at 5 pm Monday, November 1, 2021, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Childs, pastor of the Lakewood United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-5 pm Monday, one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua Blind Association, 516 W. 5th St. Jamestown, NY 14701.
