Obituary of Judith S. Brown

Judith Spaulding Brown, 63, a caring daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, November 20, 2021 in her home. She was born September 26, 1958 in Jamestown, NY and was the daughter of Adena Foran Woodard and the late Paul H. Spaulding. After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1976, she went on to earn an Associate's degree from Jamestown Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management from Eastern Kentucky University. Several years later, all while battling and surviving breast cancer, she earned her Master's Degree in Computer Information Technology online from Regis University, with additional certifications in Software Engineering and Executive Technology. With a strong passion for education and learning, Judy continued to receive many certifications, earning her most recent in November 2021. She established an abundant career as a programmer analyst, senior software engineer, and contractor/consultant. With her specialized skill set, she contributed to many companies including Blackstone/Valeo, KOA, Case Cutlery, IBM, Navy Federal, USAA and most recently SAIC. Her diverse career gave her the opportunity to reside in several locations throughout the east coast. In addition to her mother of Jamestown, surviving are her two children, Leslie (Adam) Hoisington of Sugar Grove, PA., and Garett (Debbie) Brown, U.S. Air Force stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. She shared a deep bond with her four grandchildren; Lauson and Ackron Hoisington and Emma and Owen Brown, who dearly loved their "Yama". Her children and grandchildren were her world and she was extremely proud of them. Also surviving are her two dear sisters: Sharon (David) Wordelmann of Lakewood and Nancy (Bernard) Anderson of Jamestown; as well as her nieces Melissa (Mathieu) Johnson, Rebecca Slagle, Heather (Daniel) Greco, Elizabeth Wordelmann, Karla (Ricardo) Gonzalez and Kristen (Jesse) Milne. Judy also loved her great nieces and nephews and many extended family members that she maintained a close relationship. Judy was a very vibrant, passionate, and energetic person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She had the "gift of giving," and as an avid knitter enjoyed creating special gifts for people in her life. Her favorite place to visit was the beach or anywhere her children were. She was a member of the Jamestown Vikings and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Family and friends will be received from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021 with a service following at 3:00 p.m., in the Lind Funeral Home, Jamestown, NY. Pastor PJ Cathcart, of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, will officiate. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Roswell Park Cancer Center, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240; or to the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, 210 Jamestown St., Sugar Grove, PA 16350. To live stream the service, please visit www.lindfuneralhome.com.
