Obituary of Walter E. Sanders, Jr.

Walter E."Bud" Sanders, Jr., 79, of Jamestown NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan Sanders, 2 sisters: Eleanor Schlopy, Kane PA, Nancy (Chris) Stovic, Kane PA; 2 sons: Scott Sanders, Kane PA; Walter "Wally" Sanders III (Melanie) Ashville NY; three daughters: Debbie Winsor, Kane PA; Tracy Good, (Art) Valrico FL; Lisa Sanders, Frewsburg NY, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Steven Sanders. Bud had a passion for antique cars. He was very talented in the rebuilding and restoration of vehicles. He enjoyed the outdoors and rode many miles on his 4-wheeler in Marienville. In the winter he would spend time with his son and grandsons setting up tree stands and discussing the "Big Hunt". A big man with an even bigger heart, he adored time spent with family especially family gatherings and cookouts. He had a soft spot for his great grandchildren, taking them to the zoo and breakfast with Santa. He didn't sit still long and was happiest working in his garage, drinking coffee on his patio swing, and attending flea markets to find his next "Great treasure". A loving husband, father, and grandfather. His humor and presence will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon to 2 pm on Saturday, two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Masks must be worn while in the funeral home regardless of vaccination status.
