Obituary of John J. Frangione

John J. Frangione, 80, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully at 9:10 pm Monday, January 3, 2022, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born March 3, 1941, in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late John J. and Leona P. Bale Frangione, Sr. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and earned an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Jamestown Community College. Before his retirement he was employed by Jamestown Metal Manufacturing Division of AVM as a mechanical drafter and designer. In earlier years he had worked for Hope's Windows. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family especially attending his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and his many vacations in Florida. Surviving are his three sons; Todd (Pam) Frangione, Dennis (Laura) Frangione, Jeffrey (Theresa Shoffner) Frangione all of Jamestown, nine grandchildren; Joshua Frangione of Kennedy, NY, Joseph (Taryn) Frangione of Jamestown, Alexandria (Andy) Macaluso of Buffalo, NY, Steven (Jordan) Frangione of Rock Hill, SC, Ryan Frangione of Jamestown, Jacob (Shannon) Frangione of Kennedy, NY, Anthony Frangione of Lakewood, NY, Tiffany Work, Crystal Work both of Russell, PA, two great grandchildren, Jackson Frangione and Charlie Frangione and a sister, Carol (Wayne) Cooper of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy A. Thomas Frangione whom he married May 5, 1962, and who died August 27, 2013. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Cygan, parochial vicar of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Italian American Charity Golf Association, P.O. Box 352, Jamestown, NY 14702-0352.
