Obituary of Victor E. Bankowski

Victor E. Bankowski, 79, of 2050 Hoag Rd., Ashville, died Friday January 14, 2022, in his home. A native of Ambridge, PA, he was born August 30, 1942, a son of the late Zigmund and Sophia Chapala Bankowski. Moving to Jamestown in 1967, he was employed by Taylor Jamestown and Union Nation furniture companies as a finisher. He later owned and operated Home Maintenance Company. He was a truly caring husband, father, and grandfather. He loved boating, restoring his 1965 and 1966 Packards and visiting the casino. Surviving is his wife Carol Shear Bankowski, whom he married April 30, 1966; a son Wayne Bankowski of Ashville and a granddaughter Ally Bankowski of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Phillip Bankowski and a sister Marjorie Bankowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
