Obituary of Susan E. Dustin

Susan E. Dustin, 77, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gowanda, NY. She was born August 30, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Arthur R. and Helen Johnson Winzell. Susan was a graduate of the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing and was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former WCA Hospital for over 25 years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also was a lover of all kinds of animals. Surviving are her children; Laura (John) Knight of Jamestown, NY, Helen "Holly" (Tamas Chlumetzky) Gardner of Hillsboro, OR. James (Chandra) Gardner, Jr. of Santa Cruz, CA, five grandchildren; Virginia (Eric) Carlberg, Julia (Travis) Olmstead both of Jamestown, Emily (Dan) Smith of Cattaraugus, NY, Ethan Gardner of Portland, OR. Collin Gardner of Santa Cruz, CA, seven great grandchildren, three stepdaughters, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and a brother; U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. (Ret.) James (Judy) Winzell of AZ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex- husband, James Gardner who died in 1987, and her last husband, Thomas P. Dustin who died August 28, 2018. Her funeral will be held at 1 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Allport-Cohoon, pastor of the Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11am – 1pm Thursday, two hours prior to the service, in the funeral home where masks must be worn.
