Obituary of Richard C. Speadling

Richard C. Speadling, 68, of 79 Mapleshade Ave., Falconer, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, following a brief illness and surrounded by his family at UPMC Chautauqua. He was born April 17, 1953 in Jamestown and was a son of the late John A. and Joyce Anderson Speadling. He was previously employed by Dahlstrom Manufacturing, Westfield Disposal, and Casella Waste. Known as MacGyver by his family, Rick was truly a 'jack of all trades'. He was a welder, spray painter, and case maker who could also fix anything. He enjoyed watching anything Sci-Fi and was simply a hardworking man who loved his family. Surviving is the love of his life, his wife, Diane Smith Speadling whom he married July 3, 1982; four children: Cherrie (Junior) Rodriguez, Ranee (Jonathan) Anthony, Julia Speadling, and Richard Speadling, Jr.; seven grandchildren: Traci (Erik Gullet) Rodriguez, Cori Rodriguez, Emma (Kyle Cassidy) Anthony, Abby (Jake Tota) Anthony, Lily Speadling, Tage Sarro, and Richard Speadling III; four great grandchildren: Caden Kozaczki, Silas Gullet, Landon Tota, and Colton Tota; as well as a number of longtime friends he considered family. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by two brothers, Philip Speadling and John Speadling. Following his wishes, no services will be observed.
