Obituary of Joseph A. Valvo

Joseph A Valvo, 69, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 in his home. A Jamestown native, he was born November 11, 1952, and was the son of the late Sam and Grace Piazza Valvo. He was an MRC retiree, having worked as a CNC machine operator and in later years, shipping. Joe was a member of the Celoron American Legion, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and Westfield Fish & Game. Throughout the years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. Joe could also often be found cruising the area automobile dealerships with a keen eye for his next purchase. He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Nancy Dole; sons: Joseph S. Valvo of Nevada, and Tim (Leslie) Dole and Andy (Sonya) Dole, both of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Alyssa Castellano, Carter Dole, Quinn Dole, Leah Dole, and Wyatt Dole; as well as a brother, Anthony (Barb) Valvo of Fluvanna and sister, Antoinette (Joe) Juliano of Lakewood. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Valvo in 1996 and mother, Grace Valvo in 2010. A celebration of Joe's life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5th at the Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion in Celoron. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Celoron Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 328, Celoron, NY 14720-0328.
