Obituary of Aliceanne V. Johnson

Aliceanne V. Johnson, 88, formerly of Celoron and Sinclairville, passed away Sunday morning, March 6, 2022 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident, she was born in Jamestown on March 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Ebba E Gustafson Johnson. A 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School, Aliceanne was a member of the first graduating class of Jamestown Community College in 1951. She then received her Lab Technician Certificate from the City of Jamestown in 1953. She was employed as a lab technician, first by the former Jamestown General Hospital, and later by WCA Hospital, eventually serving as Lab Manager. Aliceanne had been a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown and enjoyed travel, having visited Florida, Jamaica, and Egypt. She loved animals, visiting yard sales, quilting, and gardening. Surviving is her nephew, Craig H. Swanson of Jamestown. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen J. Swanson in 1998, and a nephew, Carl H. Swanson III in 2019. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3 to 4 pm.
