Obituary of Gloria D. Waite

Gloria D. Waite, 91, of Heritage Village, formerly of Valleyview Avenue, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, April 26, 2022. A native of Washington, PA, she was born April 17, 1931, a daughter of the late Roy and Ola Abbott Marshall. She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. A long-time member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, she lived and shared her strong Christian faith with many. She enjoyed bird watching and gardening. Surviving are four daughters Sandra Wicklund, Patricia (Rick) Hooks, Wendy Waite and Judy (Russell) Carpenter all of Jamestown; four grandchildren Eric, Kristen and Justin Wicklund and Emily Carpenter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley I. Waite, whom she married April 29, 1950, and who died April 30, 2017; son in law Jonathan Wicklund; three brothers William, Roy and Charles Marshall and four sisters Leona Satterlund, Ruth Whitfield, Virginia Marshall and Joy Eckwahl. A private graveside service will be held in Lake View Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
