Obituary of Jamie A. Rodriguez

Jamie A. Rodriguez, 49, of 2374 Lakeside Drive, Ashville, died Tuesday May 10, 2022, in UPMC Hamot. A native of Jamestown, he was born January 24, 1973, a son of Judy Babyak Rodriguez and the late Enrique "Chico" Rodriguez. He was a 1991 graduate of Jamestown High School, received a bachelor's degree in 2000 from West Virginia University and a master's degree from Fredonia State University. Jamie was an accomplished trumpet player from the time he was in high school and continued with his craft as a member of the Porcelain Bus Drivers and also the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas. He was employed by TitanX as a technician and earlier had worked as a music teacher in the Kenmore School District. Surviving besides his mother of Jamestown is his wife Melisse Schrope-Rodriguez, DVM; two sons Jeramie and Andrew Rodriguez; two sisters Lisa Rodriguez of Ashville and Angela Rodriguez of North Tonawanda and a brother Steve (Angela Ricotta) Rodriguez of Jamestown. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Amy Rodriguez. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and for one hour prior to the service Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to William H.
