Obituary of Janet Patricia Nugent

Janet Patricia Nugent, 81, of 2123 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, formerly of Springville, died Wednesday May 11, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1941, in DuBois, PA, a daughter of the late Lynn and Agnes Brooker Smith. She was a 1959 graduate of Salamanca High School and later earned a degree from Bryant and Stratton. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Springville Pediatrics as a receptionist. She was a longtime communicant of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Springville. Pat was a member of Calico Club and Cordealian Club. Pat enjoyed traveling, golfing, entertaining and cooking for the holidays. More than anything she loved time spent with family and walking on the beach. Surviving is her husband Michael "Mick" Nugent, whom she married August 18, 1962; four children Michael (Rebecca Huiatt) Nugent of Lisbon, NY, Mark (Suzette) Nugent of Jamestown and Shelly (Chris) Payne and Stephanie Heimburg both of Ashville; ten grandchildren Christian (Jacqueline) Nugent, Michael Nugent, Olivia (Michael) Watson, Bryce Payne, Brett Nugent, Jack Payne, Quinn Payne, Claire Heimburg, Carson Heimburg and Eli Nugent; a brother Lynne (Kathryn) Smith of Baton Rouge, LA and a sister Carol (Bill) Kozak of Poland, OH. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Wednesday May 18, 2022, in the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E Main St, Springville, NY 14141.
