Obituary of Muriel F. Mazzone

Muriel F. Mazzone, 72, of 165 Chautauqua Ave, Lakewood, died Sunday May 22, 2022, at Fiddlers Green Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Springville NY. She was born October 11, 1949, in Westfield, NY, a daughter of the late Merle and Ruth Seeley Fardink. She was a 1967 graduate of Panama Central School and later earned a degree in Nursing from Jamestown Community College and Daemen University. Prior to her retirement she was employed by The Resource Center as a registered nurse. Muriel loved to go antiquing and thrifting. Muriel was also a believer in extraterrestrial life and urban legends and would always try to convince her friends and family of the existence of Bigfoot. In earlier years, Muriel volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, and treasurer for the Ashville church. Muriel is survived by her two children Jonathan (Bonita) Mazzone of Cassadaga and Kimberley (Tyler) Mazzone-Gilbert of Lakewood; three grandchildren, Dominic J. Mazzone, Blake M. Mazzone, and Chloe H. Mazzone; a brother, Paul (Cheryl) Fardink. She is also survived by her niece, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins, and many friends and family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mazzone Jr, whom she married July 7, 1979, and who died January 26, 1984; and her brother, Jonathan B Fardink, who died November 26, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 27th at 7 p.m. at the Lind Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 6-7 p.m.
