Obituary of Lucille B. Miller

Lucille B. Miller, 96, of Brookdale, formerly of 81 Stewart Avenue, died Monday October 17, 2022, in the home of her daughter in law in Jamestown. She was born June 7, 1926, in Phoenix, NY, a daughter of the late Harold and Vivian Butts Bishop. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed for 31 years by The Post Journal in the composing room. She was a private piano teacher for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lucille Ball Little Theatre, Mozart Club, and Rotary Club where she was recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Lucy was a well-known pianist in the area. She played for high school musicals, entertained at local nursing homes, and accompanied productions at Little Theatre as well as Junior Guilders. Surviving are three children Kenneth (Diana) Miller of Tennessee, David (Diane) Miller of Jamestown and Marjorie (William) Pietraface of Oneonta; two daughters in law Toni Miller and Myrna Miller both of Jamestown; ten grandchildren Brandon (Lori) Miller, Heather (Tye) Flurie, Patricia Dixson, Lisa Schlonski, Tracy Miller, Shannon (Mark) Mescall, Correy (Michelle) Miller, Jennifer (Mike) Feldman, Stefanie (Eric) Gifford and Megan (Matt) Robbins; twenty Two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters Lenore Hoxie, Joanne Sebastian and Joyce Andrews and a brother Vernon (Jean) Bishop. She was preceded in death by her former husband Frederick Miller; two sons Ernest and Paul Miller; a grandson Jonathon Miller; two brothers Victor and Donald Bishop; a sister Frances Waring and an aunt Bernice Sydman who lived with Lucy for 20 years. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday in First Presbyterian Church, where friends will be received following the service. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
