Obituary of Regina M. Botka

Regina M. Botka, 99, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Sunday November 6, 2022, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 15, 1923, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Agnes Novitski Kowalski. She was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a longtime communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. In earlier years she was employed by the former GC Murphy Company in downtown Jamestown for several years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved baking and cooking for her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune. Surviving are her three children: Susan Longhouse of West Seneca, NY, David (Jeanne) Botka of Saratoga Springs, NY, Janice (Mark) Fosberg of Jamestown, NY, four grandchildren: Karyn (Andrew) Hanrahan of Springville, NY, Michael (Kristin) Longhouse of Lancaster, NY, Jetta (Lucas) Walker of Falls Church, VA, Marcus (Jessica) Fosberg of Jamestown, NY, and five great grandchildren: Joseph Longhouse, Thomas Longhouse, Kyla Hanrahan, Jaclyn Hanrahan, and Conrad Walker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Botka whom she married June 21, 1947, and who died August 2, 1996, a son-in-law, Larry Longhouse and a sister, Eleanor C. Ludwiczak. Who died October 7, 2009. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
