Obituary of Lillian S. Brown

Lillian S. Brown, 87, of Lakewood, NY, formerly of Belmont, NY, died Tuesday November 1, 2022, in UPMC Hamot. She was born November 14, 1934, in Wellsville, NY, the daughter of the late Leo Raymond Skinner and Truey Nettie Pelton Skinner. She was a night charge nurse working for Highland Health Care in Wellsville. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a teacher's aide for the Belmont School System, spending a lot of time with Children's activities, arts and crafts, 4H leader and many activities of Belmont United Methodist Church of which she was a member. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary, TOPS for several years, Jamestown Coin Club and NARFE. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and children's activities. Surviving are seven children Laurence Brown of Shinglehouse, PA, April Brown Case (David) of Gloucester, VA, Lowell Brown (Vilma) of Phillipsburg, NJ, Raymond Brown (Phyllis) of Cleveland, TN, Morgan Brown (Beatrice) of Washington, DC, Neysa Martinez (Alberto) of Valparaiso, Fla and Merritt Brown (Paula) of Lisbon, OH; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Brown, an infant son Glenn David Brown, a grandson Anthony Douglas Brown, a sister Thelma May Skinner and a brother Charles Skinner. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday November 15, 2022, in Lakewood United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Childs will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church.
