Obituary of Frederick R. Cole
Frederick R. Cole, 79, of 242 Broadhead Avenue, died Monday December 26, 2022, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born August 16, 1943, in Utica, a son of the late Frederick Cole and Margaret Gibbons Cole Anderson. He was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a mail handler by the United State Postal Service for 35 years. In earlier years he worked for Chautauqua Hardware. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and coached a Little League baseball team for many years sponsored by Pizza Hut. He enjoyed playing golf and cheering for the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, but more than anything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife Donna Penhollow, whom he married October 19, 1968; two children Michael (Amy) Cole of Houston, TX and Suzanne (Brett) Dunham of Jamestown; two grandchildren Marissa (Jacob) Anderson of Houston and Brett (Isabella Palermo) Dunham, Jr. of Jamestown and a brother Richard (Onda) Cole of Jamestown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 Saturday in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to a charity of choice. You may leave words of condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
