Obituary of Pamela A. Merrill

Pamela A. Merrill, 79, of 2123 Southwestern Drive, formerly of 2809 Stone Road, Falconer, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday February 15, 2023, at home following a lengthy illness. She was born January 1, 1944, in Johnson City, NY, a daughter of the late Jack Cooley and Mabel Guile Cooley Edic. She was a 1962 graduate of Johnson City High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public School District for 15 years as a paraprofessional working with Primary Project at R. R. Rogers Elementary School. Following retirement, she volunteered for over 10 years at Bradford Regional Medical Center in the MICA Unit sharing words of encouragement and her faith journey. She was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she served on the Board of Christian Education, was an AWANA and Women's Bible Study leader, a member of the Welcome Committee and Women's Circle and a Vacation Bible School volunteer. In addition, she was the placement coordinator for Royal Family Kids Camp and a member of Koinonia of Chautauqua County. Surviving is her husband Donald Merrill, whom she married May 23, 1970; two children Jennifer (Scott) Houchin of Haymarket, VA, and Randall (Aya) Merrill of Edgewater, NJ and two grandchildren Abigail and Kyle Houchin. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her stepfather William Edic and two sisters Martha Edic and Renee Miller. The funeral will be held at 10 am Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
