Obituary of Richard A. Ross

Richard A. "Rick" Ross, 66, of Celoron, NY, passed away at 2:32 pm Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the emergency room of UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, he was born March 2, 1956, a son of Donald C. Ross and the late Martha Ann Wichman Ross. Rick was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School. In earlier years he was employed as a machine operator for the Matco Tool Company in Lakewood, NY and most recently had worked with the residents of Aspire of Western New York. Rick was a life member of the Celoron Fire Department, serving for 31 years and was also a past president of the department. He was previously a member of the Ashville Fire Department. He will be remembered as one who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and doing puzzles. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Vikings. Surviving are his father, Donald C. Ross of Jamestown, NY, his three children, Michael A. (Danielle) Ross of Lakewood, NY, Kylie M. (Tommy Thompson) Ross of Jamestown, NY, Erick (Renee) Ross of Schenectady, NY, eight grandchildren, Drayton Ross, Danyella Sanders, Danika Sanders, Viktoria Ross, Alexander Ross, Axel Thompson, Harper Ross, Carson Ross, and two sisters, Cindy (Hop) Chase of AZ, Sandi (Ron) Holter of Jamestown, NY, his brother and sister in laws, Darlene (Charlie) Doepp, Laurie Quattrone, Wayne (Ericka) Quattrone, II, James (Nancy) Quattrone, Tina (Rick) Simon, Tracey Storer, and Jason (Brittney) Quattrone. Besides his mother, Martha Ross who died November 10, 2004, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa M. Quattrone Ross whom he married September 29, 1984, and who died April 3, 2012, and his brother, James Ross who died June 12, 1986, and his mother-in-law, Patricia Klein, and his father-in-law, Wayne E. Quattrone. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Cameron Lienhart, pastor of Conduit Ministries will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
