Obituary of Bessie G. Guido

Bessie G. Guido, 99, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. A lifelong resident of Jamestown, NY, she was born October 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Nicolo and Genevieve Russo Guido. Bessie graduated from Jamestown High School in 1942 and was employed for over 50 years at Crawford Furniture. An active communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Bessie enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing and bowling leagues in former years, trips to the casino, playing bridge with the girls, attending Mass, and hosting Tuesday night family dinner parties. Surviving are three nephews: Tom Guido of Bethpage, NY, and Paul (Johnna) Guido and Daniel Guido, both of Jamestown; and a great-nephew, Tommy (Antonette) Guido, Jr. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Ross and Anthony Guido; nephew, Anthony Guido, and her beloved cousin, Teresa Audino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:45 p.m.
