Obituary of James L. Pullan

James L. Pullan, 85, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday February 26, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1937, in Jamestown, a son of the late John and Myrtle Larson Pullan. He was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School. Since 1982 he owned and operated Jamestown Mattress Company until his recent retirement. He earlier had worked for Inter Royal and Niagara Therapy. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge 145 F&AM, Kharram Grotto, Spec 88 Stock Club and was a member and past officer of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Jim enjoyed living and boating on Chautauqua Lake. One of his biggest passions and enjoyment was working daily with three generations of the family at Jamestown Mattress. In his early years he enjoyed traveling and bowled in many local leagues. However, more than anything he enjoyed time spent with his family. Surviving is his wife Louise (Pearson) Pullan whom he married April 2, 1959; four children James (Pam) Pullan, Jr., of Frewsburg, Steven (Lori) Pullan of Jamestown, Sharyn (Larry) Curtis of Corry, PA and Bruce Pullan of Jamestown; grandchildren Andrea (Doug) Kredel, Ashley (Doug Lindgren) Pullan, Melissa (John) Higley, Aaron (Jeanette) Pullan, Sarah (Chris) Jones, Lindsay (Aubrey) Russell and Laura (Braidy) Westfall and eleven great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings John Pullan, Shirley Anderson, Mary Bellandi and Barb Peterson. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10 am to 1 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
