Obituary of Joan T. Weaver

Joan D. Weaver, 74, of Jamestown, NY and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, following a brief illness. An area resident for most of her life, she was born June 21, 1948, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Earl "Bud" and Gladys Anderson Tichbourne. She was a graduate of Pine Crest High School, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she spent eight months of the year, and earned her bachelor's degree in Business administration from the University of Miami. She will be remembered as one who loved gardening and taking long walks and loved all kinds of animals and some people. She will be missed by many friends and family members. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. For over 45 years she and her mother owned and operated the California Accessories Dress Shop and ran the Albion Guest House at Chautauqua Institution during the summer season. They also operated the dress shop in Dania Florida during the winter months. Surviving is her husband, John S. Mikina of Jamestown, NY, and a half sister, Sharon Gill of CA. Services for Joan were private, and burial was in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Central Cemetery, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lind Funeral Home, Inc.
