Obituary of Kathleen E. Spitale

Kathleen E. "Kathy" Spitale, 66, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 9:24 am Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. An area resident for most of her life, she was born March 28, 1956, in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Robert H. Trummer and the late Noreen A. Healy Trummer. Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Maple Grove High School. She was currently working as a caregiver with her daughter and son in law for Compassionate Home Care of New York. In earlier years she had owned and operated the former Colonial Whip Restaurant and was a long-time waitress at the Bel-View East Restaurant in Falconer, NY. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister who loved cooking and baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved playing bingo and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Surviving is her daughter and caregiver, Alissa (Craig) Robbins with whom she made her home, a son, Scott (Lexy) Baglia of Waxhaw, NC, four grandchildren, Jack Robbins, Dominick Robbins both of Jamestown, NY, Easton Baglia, Ava Baglia both of Waxhaw, NC, four sisters, Debra (Brian) Ceci of Jamestown, NY, Christy Elicker of Warren, PA, Cheryl (Grant) Wickham of Louisville, KY, Ellen Trummer of Jamestown, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her dear friends who have been by her side throughout her illness, Debra Eckwahl, Josie Pollino, Darlene Sampson, Lorraine Malenga. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James J. "Jamie" Spitale who died May 1, 2008. The family would like to thank Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Rosemarie and Heidi, for their loving care of Kathie during her final days. The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday, March 6, 2023, in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Ramon Corder of the Lighthouse Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua hospice and Palliative Care, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Jamestown, NY 14701.
