Obituary of Nikolaus A. Grunert

Nikolaus A. Grunert, 95, of 522 Orchard Road, died Monday March 20, 2023, in his home. He was born December 9, 1927, in Jegothen, East Prussia, Germany and came to the United States in 1951. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Weber Knapp for 34 years as a tie and die maker. He was a communicant of Sacred heart Catholic Church, was a member of Alpen Club and was known as a handyman and fixer. Surviving is his wife Ingrid Perk Grunert, whom he married October 2, 1965; a son Nicholas Grunert of Jamestown and a sister Gertrud Block of Jamestown. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday in Sacred heart Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 5-6 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
