Obituary of Arlene I. Knickerbocker

Arlene I. Knickerbocker, 88,of 147 North Avenue, Hilton, NY, formerly of Jamestown, NY died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in Hildebrandt Hospice Center, Rochester. She was born April 14, 1934, in Keating, PA, a daughter of the late John and Mary LeBar Stebbins. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and initially employed by Jamestown Maddox Table Company. Later she was employed by the City of Jamestown as a court clerk. She was a member of the former Westminster Presbyterian Church of Jamestown NY where she served as a Deacon and was currently a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY. A loving and devoted mother and wife, her compassion and support went beyond her immediate family. For those who knew her, she will always be remembered for her strength, quick wit, beautiful smile, back rubs and love of animals. Surviving are her three children Rodney Knickerbocker of Hamburg, NY, David Knickerbocker of Palm Bay, FL and Sandra Knickerbocker of Hilton, NY, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren Renee Baker, Jennifer Fero, Katharine Decossaux, Sean, Joshua and Ethan Knickerbocker and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rodger Knickerbocker, whom she married June 4, 1955, and who died February 9, 2012 and a brother Wayne Stebbins. A memorial service will be held at 11 am April 15, 2023 in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
