Obituary of Martha G. Love

Martha G. Love, 87, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was the widow of the late Russell H. Love whom she married May 11, 1957 and who died June 15, 2016. Martha was born Feb. 21, 1936 in Utahville, Pa., 1 of 15 children of the late Thomas and Mabel Lewis Samuels, and was a 1953 graduate of BCI High School in Coalport, Pa. In earlier years employed by Dairylea, she then worked for the former Betty Dixon Candies in Jamestown for 10 years. Martha had been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1957 and helped run the rummage sale for many years. She also volunteered at both Jamestown General hospital and WCA hospital. She was well-known for always helping others. She is survived by three children: Sandra J. Love of Jamestown, Cheryl R. (Kent Bennett) Love of Brocton, NY, and William T. (LeAnn) Love of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Michael Pezzulo, Adam (Erika) Pezzulo, Thomas Pezzulo, Andrew Pezzulo, Anthony (Ali) Pezzulo, Paige (Dan) Anderson, and Casey (Sarah) Love; four great-grandchildren: Lily Anderson, Samuel Pezzulo, Summer Anderson and Jonathan Pezzulo; as well as two sisters: Grace Browning of Stoystown, Pa and Jane McKeehen of Altoona, Pa. Along with her husband Russell, she was preceded in death in 2008 by her grandson, David W. Love; four sisters: Mary Nevling, Winnie Gallaher, Dorothy Simmers and Margaret Lender; and eight brothers: Lewis, John, James, Edward, Cyrus, William, Robert and Donald Samuels. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
