Obituary of Nancy J. Anderson

Nancy J. Anderson, 89, of Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of Hultquist Place, Covenant Manor, High Acres, Bemus Point and Lakewood, died Monday June 5, 2023, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born November 28, 1933, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Walter and Daphna Rundell Black. She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Accredited Care as a home care aide and earlier had worked for Union Trust Company, Chautauqua National Bank, First National Bank and YWCA. Since 1965 she was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church where she participated in Sunday School, Prayer Team, Nuture Team and Hand Chimes. She was a member of YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Willow Run Golf Course, Ingjald Lodge #65 IOV, Covenant Manor Bible Study, Book Club Group and charter member of the Ruby Red Hats of Lakewood. An avid fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, she enjoyed golfing with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and friends. Surviving are four sons Michael (Rebecca) Anderson of Jamestown, Thomas (Judy) Anderson of Russell, PA, Lt Col David (Valerie) Anderson (ret) of Knob Noster, MO and Todd (Nancy) Anderson of Jamestown; grandchildren Rosemary (Will) Austin, Troy (Courtney) Anderson, Cory Anderson, Morgan (Aaron) Skaith, Patrick Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Nicholas (Amanda) Anderson and Joshua (fiancée Cassandra) Anderson and great grandchildren Emily, William, Hadley, Owen, Adalyn and Milo. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Anderson, whom she married December 27, 1952, and who died June 2, 2018; three brothers R. William Black, James Black and W. Robert Black and two sisters Margaret Black and Armede Brown. A celebration of life and visitation will be held in September. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
