Obituary of Vincent R. Nalbone

Dr. Vincent R. Nalbone, 83, of 3165 Strunk Road, died Thursday January 29, 2015, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born November 29, 1931, in Jamestown, a son of the late Peter and Emma Brunacini Nalbone. He was a graduate of Little Seminary High School, Buffalo went on to earn a bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University and later graduated from University at Buffalo School of Dentistry. He served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant in the Dental Corps followed by a career as a dentist in the Jamestown area for over 40 years. He was a communicant of St Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point. Always active in the community, he was a member of the Jamestown Rotary Club and was recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. His other memberships include Eastside Fellowship, Celtics, Livingston Club, Lakewood YMCA, Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight, Chautauqua County and Jamestown Dental Societies and serving as a past president of the latter and was a founding member of the social group The Dirty Dozen. Surviving are his wife Lynn Bastian Baglia Nalbone, whom he married in 1993; five children Patty (Greg) Lindquist of Jamestown, Vincent P. Nalbone, MD. of Las Vegas, NV, John Nalbone of Denver, CO, James (Elizabeth) Nalbone, MD of Albany, NY and David Nalbone PhD of Valparaiso, IN; five step sons Jay (Elissa) Baglia PhD of Chicago, IL, Greg (Linda) Baglia of New Paltz, NY, Andrew (Connie) Baglia of Columbus, NC, Alan (Jennifer) Baglia of Woodside, NY and Joel Baglia of Kent, CT; fifteen grandchildren Katie Rice, Sally and Kim Lindquist, Emily, Maggie, James and Lucas Nalbone, Sydney, Grace, Adam, Virginia and Aria Baglia, Jack and Ewan McTiernan and Max Benton; one great grandchild Mason Frank; a brother Peter Nalbone of Mount Holly, NC and a sister Carol (Kiwi) Van Epps of Annapolis, MD. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Sally Tilaro Nalbone, whom he married October 24, 1959 and who died December 23, 1992 and two brothers Charles and John Nalbone. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday April 25th in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, 42 East Main Street, Bemus Point, NY. Rev. Todd Remick will be celebrant.
