Obituary of Phyllis J. Kron

Phyllis J. Kron, 88, formerly of West Ellicott, died Monday March 16, 2015 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born May 22, 1926 in Jamestown the daughter of the late William F. and Selma W. "Sally" Swanson Rahm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Kron whom she married August 28, 1948 and who died June 23, 2009; and her daughter, Linda Lee Kron Nau who died April 11, 1981. Phyllis graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944. She was a member of Alpha Delta Chi throughout her high school and adult years. This amazing group of friends would continue to be together for one another through a lifetime of ups and downs. No doubt the children of these ladies will remember the get togethers that were full of chatter and laughter. Following high school, Phyllis worked at MRC. Although she left MRC to become a fulltime stay at home mom in 1951, she enjoyed sharing wonderful memories of her time at MRC and attended MRC picnics for many years. Phyllis loved her family, friends and church. She enjoyed coffee with neighbors, monthly lunches with her cousins, and was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 75 years. Surviving is her daughter, Shelley Kron of Oneida, NY; grandson, Matthew Nau of Denver, CO; son in law, Vance (Valerie) Nau Jr.; step grandchildren, Allison and Gregory Nau; and special friends, Dave and Janet Ryan and Donna Taylor. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick LaDue, pastor of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 385 South Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701; or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. Special thanks to the staff at "The Park." Thanks for the care and thanks for the time you spent chatting with mom, and to her very special gang; you are the greatest.
