Obituary of Marilyn A. Evans

Marilyn A. Evans, 71, of Tanglewood Manor, 560 Fairmount Ave. W.E., formerly of 18 Beach St. Dunkirk, NY, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 27, 1944 in Corry, PA a daughter of the late Clinton and Louise Edwards Nichols. Marilyn was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and believed her life's purpose was to share the Gospel of Christ with all people. She was an active member in the ministry of the Pillar of Fire Fellowship in Dunkirk, NY. She was also a Koinonian and was devoted to Koinonia's ministry. In earlier years she was associated with her late husband in the family business where she always did whatever it took to maintain a home and family. In later years was a Certified Nursing Aide for several nursing homes in southwest Florida, where she lived at the time. Her artistic talents touched many lives. She loved to shower people with simple handcrafted cards and was gifted in acrylic and watercolor painting. From her childhood to the very end, her art was interwoven into, and flowed out of her life. Surviving are her three children, Joyce (Dan) Spear of Rochester, NY, Brett (Barbara) Heintzman of Jamestown, David Heintzman of Valparaiso, IN, two step-children, Eileen Case of Allentown, PA, John (Laurie) Evans of Stillwater, MN, one grandson, Jacob Dill, six step- grandchildren, Patrick and Sean Case, Melissa, Jacob, David, and Susan Evans; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, David F. Heintzman who died in 1999, her second husband Peter W. Evans who died in 2013 and a brother, Duane Nichols. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, in the Free Methodist Church of Jamestown, 515 East Seventh St., Jamestown, NY. Pastor Jeff Wentz of the Pillar of Fire Fellowship will officiate. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church.
