Obituary of Jean C. Kosmalski

Jean C. Kosmalski, 85, formerly of Palm Rd. Jamestown, passed away at 11:10 am Thursday, September 10, 2015, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born April 26, 1930 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Dr. George and Gertrude Moynihan Caccamise. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her nursing degree from Niagara University in 1956. Before her retirement in 1986, she was a registered school nurse for the Jamestown Board of Education for 24 years. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Surviving are a brother, David Caccamise of Amherst, OH, a sister, Nina Papperman of Interlaken, NY, two grandchildren, Karen Danson,and Joseph Danson both of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kosmalski whom she married February 15, 1958 and who died November 27, 1959, a daughter, Mary Kosmalski Danson, two brothers, Gerald Caccamise, George Caccamise, Jr. and her step-mother Ardith Caccamise. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday in Holy Apostles Parish at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 5:45 pm Monday in the funeral home.
