Obituary of Lynn W. Phillips

Lynn W. Phillips, Jr., 77, of 5032 Stoneledge Road, Ashville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday September 2, 2015, in Absolut Care of Westfield with his family by his side. A native of Pulaski, NY, he was born January 15, 1938, a son of the late Lynn and Ellamae Olin Phillips, Sr. He was a graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was employed as a reading teacher at Jamestown High School for 27 years. He also taught English as a Second Language. He will be remembered as someone who loved sweets, especially chocolate, cigarettes, Manhattans, vacations in Maine, going out to breakfast with friends and his many four legged friends. He was a longtime member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are two children Thomas (Kim Card) Phillips of Ashville and Julie (Frank Rich) Rivers of Penfield; six grandchildren Alicia (Dave) Snow, Travis, Cody, Taylor, Kacy and Lyndsey and lifelong friend Carole Golus of Lakewood. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother David Phillips and two sisters Dorothy Bristol and Doris Murray. Per Lynn's request a private service will be held at the convenience of the family and visitation will not be observed.
