Obituary of Gordon V. Lund

Gordon V. Lund, 74, of 2910 Donelson Road, died Tuesday October 6, 2015, in WCA Hospital. A lifelong resident of Busti, he was born June 8, 1941, a son of the late Victor and Mollie Waite Lund. He was a 1960 graduate of Southwestern Central School. He was a member Carpenters Union Local 66 for over fifty years. He worked as construction superintendent for Scalise Brothers for 29 years and LC Whitford of 11 years. During that time he oversaw the completion of many buildings and bridges in the area. He was a lifelong member of Busti Church of God. His other memberships include Lakewood Rod and Gun and the Vikings. He enjoyed building, wood working, being outdoors, hunting, feeding and watching wildlife in his backyard, traveling with his wife and family, spending time with his friends and watching his grandchildren play sports and dance. Surviving are his wife Priscilla Nobbs Lund, whom he married February 24, 1962; three children Diane (Ron) Ferguson and children Connor, Cole, Cade, Carter, CJay and Cooper all of Loveland, OH, Mike (Stacy) Lund and children Makayla, Mollie and Maddie all of Belmont, NC and Thad Lund of Busti; two sisters June Bigelow of Portland, NY and Jennie Sampson of Lakewood; eighteen nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Sadie May. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Vinson Lund and three brothers-in-law Sherwood Sampson, Jim Nobbs and John Bigelow. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Busti Church of God. Rev. Roy E. Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
