Obituary of Carl A. Dominick

Carl A. Dominick, 75, of Jamestown and Lauderdale By The Sea, FL lost his battle with cancer on Thursday October 8, 2015, in his home. He was born September 6, 1940 in Erie, PA, a son of the late Samuel and Ann Vaccarello Dominick. He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Community College and the University of Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. army in 1959 and served 3 years Prior to his retirement he was president and owner of Jamestown Roofing Inc. which has been in the family for three generations. He was very proud that his four sons joined him in the business and continue operating it. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife Mary O'Hagan Dominick, whom he married November 24, 1964; four sons Joseph, Carl, Timothy and Daniel Dominick; a grandson Joseph Dominick Jr; a sister Josephine Al-Rawi and nephews Lance (Carlyn) Al-Rawi, Anthony Al-Rawi of Menifee CA and niece Kimberly (Paul) Nelson Chapin of Baldwinsville, NY. A aunt Rose (John) Stabb of Erie, PA. Great nephews Kyle J. Al-Rawi, Jordan J. Al-Rawi and great niece Megan Al-Rawi all of Fullerton, CA. His longtime office manager Kathy Mitchell and the wonderful employees of Jamestown Roofing. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Carol Ann Nelson and her husband Richard E. Nelson and a nephew Steve Al-Rawi. Carl was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. American Legion Post#149, The Lakewood Rod&Gun and Loyal Order of The Moose 1681. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct 17th in S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
