Obituary of Charles H. Morse

Charles H. Morse, 90, of 128 Aldren Ave., formerly of Pennsylvania Ave, passed away at 9:47 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 8, 1925 in Brandford, Conn., a son of the late Charles E. and Marjorie Stanley Morse. He was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School serving as class treasurer. Prior to his retirement, Charles was employed for 35 years at Marlin Rockwell Corporation, as a Standard Engineer. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church for many years. He was also a member of the Ingjald Lodge #65 IOV and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He loved to read and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America, Little League Baseball, and Midget Football. Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Gladys Carlson, whom he married Sept. 25, 1948, a daughter Cheryl ( Dann) Gulvin of Westfield, a granddaughter Lindsey Morse of Raleigh, NC, a nephew Kenneth Fairbanks and a niece Gracia Fairbanks, both of Jamestown, and 2 nephews Mike and Pat McMaster of Columbus, OH. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Morse, a brother, and 2 sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Allan W. Anderson, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Friends will be received Monday from 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home.
